    Senior Manager Site Selection - london, United Kingdom - SCALA Leadership

    Description

    My client delivers high quality and secure colocation and interconnection services. They are considered to be one of the best players in Europe with over 12 sites and growing aggressively.

    Job Purpose

    • Responsible for acquiring new data centre sites and infrastructure in Europe.
    • You will own the end-to-end site acquisition process; sourcing prospective sites, leading technical due diligence, obtaining zoning and environmental permits, managing commercial contract negotiations, and applying for necessary utility connections.
    • You will be responsible for the assessment of greenfield, brownfield, operating DCs and M&A opportunities being acquired as part of my clients ambitious organic and inorganic development strategy.
    • You will work with cross functional stakeholders across the business including design, construction, legal and finance to ensure best in class technical delivery of data centres to meet my clients strategy.

    Key Activities

    • Source opportunities, evaluate sites and lead technical due diligence. Work closely with Product and Construction teams to ensure sites meet market and customer needs.
    • Manage negotiations with all relevant parties, including landowners, local authorities and utility companies- in particular power.
    • Align availability of power with other key site selection criteria including metro and backbone fibre, related infrastructure and land use/zoning.
    • Develop strategic relationships in key markets with utility providers to understand power capacity availability, connection process and timelines. Additionally, develop understanding of energy trends including availability of clean energy.
    • Project and program management; track project progress, risk, commercial and key financial metrics to enable reporting to internal stakeholders.
    • Contribute to development of processes and governance within the Real Estate and Corporate Development teams.

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor / Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Real Estate or other relevant discipline. Or equivalent industry experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field; site acquisition, real estate, engineering design and construction.
    • Experience in the European data centre industry.

    Salary:

    Base - up to 120K

    Bonus - 15%
