As such, this global takes great pride in its reputation in the local market for offering an environment where opportunities for progression are only limited by your ambitionThe team handles claims on behalf of all this broker's clients across the whole of the North West, and you will be welcome to be based (in a hybrid : remote capacity) from any one of a number of regional offices (or several, if preferred).
This role is client-facing and you will visit clients (typically accompanying Account Executives and Directors) at their premises or site of claim for any number of reasons such as to help prepare renewal reports, talk through the broker's claims offering to prospective clients at tender or, of course, in the event of a loss.
As this broker already has a specialist Loss Adjusting team to deal with Property cases, we are looking for someone who majors in Employers' or Public Liability / Casualty claims, who can help to guide clients through sizeable losses.
As such, it is likely that you will come from either an insurance company, loss adjusting or legal environment, ideally with experience of handling Liability claims up to the value of £100K.
In addition to handling Liability claims in this role, you will also gain exposure to other types of interesting claims, where you will be supported by in-house specialists, until such time that you are fully competent with these lines.
You will take the lead in managing relations (from a claims-perspective) with a range of stakeholders such as clients, insurers and loss adjusters etc.
You'll investigate the circumstances around any loss, anticipate any challenges from insurers and other 3rd parties, and put across robust defences should any claims be refuted.
Scrutinising policy wordings, you will personally negotiate with insurers to ensure that you swiftly obtain the most favourable possible settlement terms for your clients.
As well as reacting to active files, you will also play a key part in supporting colleagues in reducing both costly losses and future years' premiums by analysing claims trends, and producing reports to identify any areas of concern.
We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates who would like to undertake some line-management responsibilities within the department, whether this is helping less-experienced colleagues on an ad-hoc basis, or perhaps even formally managing a number of colleagues.
You must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), be an excellent negotiator, and pride yourself on your ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders from all walks of life (including senior personnel at £100M+ turnover companies).
