    WHAT TO EXPECT

    The Facility & Technology Development department (F&TD) are responsible for the design and delivery of facility components, test rigs and the infrastructure required in support physical test plans. The team is also responsible for the development and delivery of key new facilities, technology, infrastructure and strategy for JLRs test teams, leading projects from concept through to delivery.

    You will also be responsible for the design, development and implementation of vehicle system, functional and safety system integration solutions across all JLRs lab-based test facilities. Our vision is to develop the System Integration & Simulation team into a multi-skilled team, growing the department's test capability in the areas of Chassis Systems, Body Systems, BEV Electric Systems, leading the business for new and enhanced test solutions and technologies.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Develop hardware/software system solutions and strategies to be deployed across various test rigs & facilities, to support delivery of JLR vehicle testing plans.

    • Liaise with JLR teams- Chassis, Body & Technology Teams within JLR Electrical Engineering on a pro-active basis, to deliver projects.

    • Hands-on approach to problem solving and implementation of solutions.

    • Generation of detailed timing plans, electrical drawings, layout diagrams. Updating of project logs and collation of documentation for project review and sign-off.

    • Responsibility for training and technical development of the local engineering teams.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    ● Experience of test rig systems and supporting infrastructure as part of a test facility.
    ● Competency in an Electrical, Electronics or Controls Engineering field.
    ● Experience of developing control systems including design, implementation and commissioning.
    ● Knowledge of vehicle and industrial communication protocols & technology – CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, EtherCAT, etc.
    ● Knowledge of vehicle active system technologies- chassis & body systems.
    ● Experience and expertise in vehicle system integration solutions/methods.
    ● Experience of delivering physical implementation of systems (installation of cabling, electrical breakouts & enclosures).
    ● Ability to schedule work tasks and manage activities to deliver projects on time & budget.
