Description
Do you see the news about people who have committed offences and think "send them to prison" if the answer is yes then this definitely is not the job for you

However, if you think "I wonder what happened to that person to cause this behaviour" or " what could help this person not to commit further offences" then this could be the job you are looking for.

We are looking for a Support, Time, Recovery (STR) Worker to join our expanding Health & Justice team based in the Black Country.

Someone who wants to be part of a team that is passionate about supporting people to address their needs and divert them away from criminal behaviour, whilst helping other agencies understand how or why these individuals have found themselves making the decisions that they have.

If you are thinking that you don't have the experience with this cohort or that you are not sure if it's for you, please do not hesitate to contact us for a chat, you may be just what we are looking for

You will be responsible for working in Liaison and Diversion (L&D) Services, dependent on skill and service need. L&D is not itself a treatment service, but it is an identification, assessment and short term support service.

There will be Liaison and Diversion Practitioners within Custody Suites and Court setting to identify and assess vulnerable individuals.

It uses assessments to make appropriate referrals for treatment and support, and ensures criminal justice practitioners are notified of specific health requirements and vulnerabilities of an individual which can be taken into account when decisions about charging and sentencing are made.

You will be responsible for providing short term support to vulnerable individuals upon leaving Custody or Court, where further support is required.

You will be responsible for working closely with the individual to prioritise need and plan actions to address identified need.

This may include supporting an individual to make a referral to a specific service and support the individual to attend the initial appointment with that service.

By joining Team MPFT, you will be helping your communities and in return for this, we will support you by

  • Supporting your career development and progression.
  • Excellent NHS Pension scheme
  • Generous maternity, paternity, adoption leave
  • Options for flexible working
  • Up to 27 days annual leave (increasing with service up to 33 days) and the opportunity to purchase additional annual leave.
  • Extensive Health and Wellbeing support and resources
  • If you work in our community teams, we pay for your time travelling between patients.
  • Lease car if you complete more than 500 business miles per annum, fully insured and maintained (including tyres), mileage paid at lease car rate
  • Salary sacrifice car fully insured and maintained (including tyres), your gross pay is reduced by the cost of the vehicle before tax, NI and pension deductions are calculated, mileage paid at business rates

  • Citizens Advice support linked with a Hardship Fund for one off additional support up to £250 (if the criteria is met)
And more.

We are proud to be a diverse and inclusive organisation and there is a choice of staff networks that help you meet like-minded people.
