Description
Provide Chemical Engineering support to global manufacturing and utility operations to optimise performance and energy efficiency by identifying and implementing continuous improvement.
Supporting growth and efficiency improvements with simulations and design specification of new plants and process adjustments to existing plants. Support the construction and commissioning of new plant and equipment, including safety assessments, testing, commissioning, training and optimisation.The job holder will help ensure our competitive advantage in world-class manufacturing by ensuring that all design, optimisation and troubleshooting activities are carried out following the company and regulators process safety standards and will support SHE departments (UK/DE) during HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA and FMEA hazards and risk identification assessments.
Management of Process engineering team Harwich 1 FTComply with all company policies and procedures ( Health & Safety, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 50001 accreditation, etc)
Evaluation of existing production process across the Group sites aiming forcontinuous efficiency improvement over their whole cycle, i.e. from raw materials use to waste disposal;
Research and proposal of alternative technologies that can be integrated to the existing processing facilities or to new plants targeting the company long-term sustainability, i.e.
from the environmental/energy efficiency, economical and social points of view;Execute and review feasibility, conceptual and basic engineering design calculations that support growth, infrastructure and compliance projects across the Group;
Participation in the Process Engineering network team, which identifies and implements optimisation projects (Operational Excellence/TPM) across all sites;
Provide process engineering support to internal capital projects for the construction and commissioning of new plants and equipment, including safety assessments (including Hazid or Hazop studies, LOPA, etc.), testing, commissioning, training and optimisation;
Support on the preparation of budgets and performance of profitability analysis Accountabilities:
Ensure productivity improvement and efficiency gains of assets through active KPI based improvement management;
Ensure energy management required for ISO 50001 certification;
Maintain and update global monthly and project reports;
Adhere to the budget of the department and the projects;
Qualified university degree as a chemical engineer or as a process engineer specialising in chemistry or an equivalent degree.
Postgraduate studies in a relevant area and PhD would be a plus as well Chartered engineering status with IChemE;More than 6 years of experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry in an engineering position;
Sound knowledge of the methods of thermal separation processes and catalytic processes, the use of simulation software, e.g. CHEMCAD, Aspen, networking skills, leadership and/or teamwork experience, analytical methodological skills and scientific work;
Comfortable with performing both desk and field work providing support to the team across all sites;
Internationally oriented, culturally open, willing to travel and multilingual with business fluent English, German language skills would be an advantage;
