Job summary
The HFEA is the UKs independentregulator of clinics providing fertility treatment and research involving humanembryos.
We are currently recruitingto a full time Scientific Inspector at the HFEA. If you are a Scientist orEmbryologist working in the fertility sector or have other relevant Scientificexperience and have worked in a senior role, wewould like to hear from you.
This is a home based role - travel across the UK will feature and office days throughout the year for all staff events and where necessary for induction and certain meetings.
Interviews are likely to take place on 4th June 2024 at Redman Place, London.
Main duties of the job
You will take responsibility for managing aportfolio of HFEA licensed centres. You will be able to work independently; to makeprofessional judgements on the impact of non-compliance; to be resilient whenmanaging difficult situations, and; be able to make proportionate and effectiverecommendations to promote compliance. You should be committed to promoting aculture of continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be educated to degreelevel or equivalent and will have worked in a senior role in a sciencediscipline relevant to healthcare. You should have experience of managing and prioritisinga complex workload. You will be able to lead and work as part of a team withpeople from a range of disciplines. Experience of gathering, analysing andinterpreting information and an ability to understand and apply complexlegislation is key. You should have good IT skills; be a confident communicatorand have excellent written skills.
This is a full-time (36 hours per week) permanent role.Our inspectors are predominantlyhome-based and frequent travel across the UK is a feature of this role.Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

The HFEA isthe UK's independent regulator overseeing safe and appropriate practice infertility treatment and embryo research. We license and monitor clinicscarrying out IVF, donor insemination, and human embryo research.
This post isoffered as a home based role. Travel across the UK features in this role, along with occasional overnight stays.
