Senior Accountant/Client Manager
Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new fully work from home challenge?

Would you like to work for a niche accountancy firm that specialises in the plumbing and heating industry?

Are you committed, personable, self-motivated and extremely accurate in your work?

Can you review work by colleges both in the UK and offshore and ensure work gets over the line by liaising with clients?

This is a rare opportunity to work from home and manage your own time.


20 -30 hrs per week with an increase likely over time.

Salary
£32,000-£42,000 per year (pro rata) depending on experience.

Our client is looking for a right-hand person to ease the workload of this fast-growing company.

You will be joining a small team of 7 enthusiastic, ambitious, friendly and supportive people, so similar personality traits are important.

This is a client facing role so excellent communication skills are a must.

General all-round knowledge and experience of being an accountant in a small practice is essential.


Responsibilities:


  • Completion and review of yearend accounts, CT600, and Corporation Tax computations by the team.
  • Completion and review of Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
  • Coordination and management of year end accounts and tax returns, VAT returns, and other administration duties as required.
  • Meet statutory deadlines for VAT, CIS, Statutory Accounts, Company and Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
  • Able to submit Companies House documents such as CS0
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Taking on and managing new clients.
  • Growing the business through referrals.
  • Offer bespoke accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice we encourage you to spot opportunities.
  • Advise clients in relation to IR35 and the associated implications of this legislation.
  • Respond to client enquiries in line with the company guarantee policy.
  • Manage the client relationship whilst building a strong rapport and developing client loyalty.
  • Quality control and file reviews of colleagues.
  • Supporting team members with more complex accounting scenarios.
  • Offer guidance.
  • Review the work of offshore team members.
  • Support the team, and the director to continuously deliver the agreed level of service
  • Other works as required, due to it being a small practice happy to muck in with other adhoc duties

Skills & Experience:


  • 5 years minimum, post qualification experience
  • Previously been responsible for managing a wide portfolio of clients (support by other team members)
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ ATT / FMAAT)
  • Knowledge of HMRC guidelines
  • Experience with Companies House
  • Sound knowledge of CIS
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Taxcalc, Syft and Accountancy Manager
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and an attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Xero (we are predominantly a Xero practice)
