Purpose:


To deliver and support the Education programmes across our Academy age ranges with specific responsibilities at post 16 and for qualifications in Sport.

You will be part of a team of staff responsible for designing, supporting, and delivering outstanding formal and informal education opportunities for Manchester United Academy players.


The Role:


The delivery of formal education programmes for players across our Academies.

  • Teach on the Btec Sport qualifications for Academy Scholars
  • Oversee the Education progress of players on our Scholarship programme, including coordinating the review and reporting process.
  • Where required, deliver, and support suitable Education qualifications in Sport for players in our Women's Professional Game Academy (P.G.A.) and those attending our fulltime training models (U15 and U16's).

Support the delivery of our informal Education programme (A United Education).

  • Coordinate curriculum delivery in a particular phase.
  • Lead on an age group Education project, where required.

On behalf of the Education Team, support other activities such as parents' evenings, inductions, MDT phase and programme review meetings, school visits, tours and tournaments and wider Academy forums where required.

The Person:


  • QTS or equivalent qualification satisfying PLYD rules.
  • Ability to teach Btec L2 & L3 Sport qualifications (essential)
  • An understanding of the philosophy, syllabus and culture of Manchester United.
  • To have relevant IT skills and an understanding of the PMA and LMS.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work with total discretion.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised and as an effective team member.
  • The ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner and practical approach to problem solving.
  • A commitment to driving forwards continuous improvement in their working environment.
  • Sound personal qualities such as communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, selfmotivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.
  • Exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United's internal and external customers.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.
  • Full driving license.
