Contracts Officer - Swindon, United Kingdom - Swindon Borough Council
Description
At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that's who we're doing it for – the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you'll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It's all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.Your next role
We have a unique opportunity for a Contracts Officer to work within the Children's Commissioning Team, to help manage and monitor the performance of service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual and specification terms, and ensure that the Children's Services Directorate receives a cost-effective and high performing service for the children and young people of Swindon.
You will need to be highly motivated and an excellent communicator, and able to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines, approaching tasks with confidence and clarity and be able to work using your own initiative. As you will be the main face of SBC to our service providers, you will need to be approachable and able to effectively manage the provider relationships, as well as being able to work across teams both internal and externally.
You'll need to be flexible in your approach and have the ability to work as part of a team. You should also have good IT skills and it's essential you're able to work remotely and with minimal supervision, as the ability to manage your own workload will be required.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
