    About the Role

    The Estimating and Preconstruction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the estimating process for data center construction projects and analyzing the company's performance against industry benchmarks. This role requires a deep understanding of construction cost estimation, data center technologies, and industry trends to ensure the company's competitiveness and profitability.

    Main Responsibilities

    /Cost Estimation: Develop and lead the cost estimating process for datacenter construction projects from conceptual design to final construction documents. Analysis to include cost of materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.

    / Benchmarking: Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of construction cost benchmarks to aid in accurate project cost predictions.

    / Preconstruction Analysis: Collaborate with project teams to provide valuable insights during the preconstruction phase, including value engineering recommendations and cost-saving strategies.

    / Vendor Management: Evaluate and negotiate contracts with construction contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality work.

    / Global Experience: Leverage your global construction expertise to provide insights and best practices for projects in various geographic locations.

    / Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project budget compliance.

    / Cost Reporting: Prepare and present detailed cost reports and analyses to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients.

    / Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations, using data visualization techniques, to communicate cost estimations, benchmarks, and recommendations to senior management.

    / Continuously improve cost estimation and benchmarking processes, leveraging technological advancements and best practices.

    / Provide strategic insights to optimize project costs and improve cost-efficiency.

    / Utilize advanced data analytics and reporting tools to derive meaningful insights from project data while implementing data-driven strategies to optimize project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall cost-efficiency.

    / Collaborate with the IT department to enhance data collection and analysis capabilities, including the exploration of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to improve forecasting accuracy.

    / Maintain a proactive approach to risk management by identifying potential cost overruns or discrepancies through data analysis and promptly addressing these issues with the project team.

    / Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, cost management tools, and best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.

    Qualifications and experience

    / Possess a Bachelor's degree in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, construction management, civil engineering, Data Analytics or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

    / Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction cost management and preconstruction.

    / Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering cost estimates for complex construction projects.

    / Strong understanding of construction materials, methodologies, and best practices.

    / Prior experience in benchmarking and data analysis in the construction industry.

    / Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.

    / Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

    / Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.

    / Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
