Description
We are excited to recruit to this role within the Emergency Duty Team, which provides services to the Cheshire West area.
Working as part of a stable and supportive out of hours team, you will provide a first point of contact outside of 'normal' working hours to a wide range of referring agencies, individuals and families in need of support.
The service supports adults and children including those with mental health needs.
The team covers social care emergencies out of hours and the service sits under the Children and Families Directorate. All worked shifts are rota'd hours on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Our Adult Social Care workforce is committed to improving the lives of Adults in Cheshire West through a person-centred strengths based approach and a commitment to high standards of care and support. Cheshire West work in partnership with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to provide legislative mental health intervention services.
In this role you will have the fantastic opportunity to work within a small team of experienced Children's, Adults and AMHP Social Workers providing support to individuals and families out of hours. The CARO role requires the ability to engage well with people and obtain accurate information and recording for appropriate support.
As a CARO, you will be able to use IT systems effectively and ensure clear information is collated and recorded. Working closely with Social Workers on the team, the CARO is the initial contact for callers and referrers into Social Care out of hours. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure and remain professional and courteous. It is essential that you maintain confidentiality in the scope of work that we cover.
It would be beneficial if you have some flexibility and ability to cover at busy periods or would like to work additionally to cover annual leave.
The contractual work location is based at Upton Lea in Chester. Successful candidate's will have the opportunity to work flexibly, using a mixture of home working and office based once fully trained.
CARO's work on a rolling rota, annual leave is requested and not included in the rota.
The Emergency Duty Team is an evening, weekend and bank holiday service cover.
