    Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Energy from Waste
    Circa £38,500 + Overtime + benefits
    Sheffield area


    MC Technical Recruitment are recruiting for an Multi Skilled Technician (Mechanically Bias) to join an energy from waste plant in Sheffield.

    The Multi Skilled Technician will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for conducting planned and reactive maintenance on all mechanical assets across the power station to ensure maximum plant availability and minimal downtime.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician your responsibilities will include:


    Fault finding, repair work and planned & reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical plant equipment including pumps, valves, fans, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors etc and electrical assets such as motors and drives.

    Working alongside other Technicians and Engineers to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and worked to.

    Coordinating and planning daily maintenance activities

    Assisting with outages / shutdowns when required
    Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS
    Managing and directing site contractors as required
    Respond to any emergency call ins and provide acceptable off duty cover as directed by the Mechanical Engineer

    This role is a days based role working Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 4pm

    Experience and Qualifications

    A time served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering subject such as mechanical engineering or similar
    A relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level or similar

    Proven hands-on maintenance experience with pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, fans and other rotating machinery in a heavy engineering environment e.g.

    power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical or manufacturing etc etc.
    Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
    Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc.
    Ability to work as part of a small team and encourage collaborative working relationships
