    Description

    Billington Foods is a recently established business with a strong heritage following a merger of well two industry-leading food manufacturers. We supply the UK's Foodservice, Retail & B2B markets. Our product expertise covers chilled and frozen sauces and soups, frozen pies & desserts; and we are predominantly a bespoke manufacturer.

    We strive to ensure our products exceed customer expectations. This is only achieved through our people, who are passionate about making high quality products.

    Job Purpose:

    To provide expert knowledge and support to the operations team in relation to Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Integrity.

    Responsibilities:


    •Completion of GMP audits


    •Completion of Fabrication & Hygiene audits as per schedule


    •Management of non-conforming products in line with relevant procedures


    •Product status maintenance throughout the process


    •Liaise closely with Line Leaders, Area Managers and Shift Manager to ensure products are within factory specifications


    •Monitor product quality and ensure all products are correctly assembled.


    •Monitoring of temperature-controlled freezers and chillers


    •Microbiological swabbing and sampling as per set schedule


    •Allergen / Protein / DNA swabbing and sampling as per schedule


    •Submission of collected samples to the laboratory using online system


    •Preparation and dispatch of samples to lab


    •Raising and communicating process / product non-conformances including management of ON HOLD list


    •Assessment of ingredients and finish products at any time when concession is required


    •Management of concessions (approval and rejection of concessions)


    •Conducting daily taste panel to verify quality of finished products in line with finish product Quality Attribute Sheets


    •Produce reports for audited areas as required.


    •Completion of product and process traceability as per schedule

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    · Good understanding of food manufacturing processes

    · Passion for food is essential

    · Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

    · Ability to work as part of a team.

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday 15:00 – 0:00
