    The Role:

    We're looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and organized communications professional to lead our external communications efforts at Redgate. The role will be responsible for delivering the external communications strategy, managing our PR agencies and contributing to our objectives to ramp awareness and bring Redgate's story to life for our target audiences.

    The role will approach communications systematically, working cross-functionally across both Marketing and the broader organization to uncover and tell stories which help achieve our company strategies, and keeping focused on our goal to help organizations streamline software development and get value from their databases faster.

    At an exciting time in Redgate's growth, you'll be supporting the delivery of the overall corporate communications strategy and building comms plans for our events, community websites and resources, and ESG programmes.

    We operate from a flexible hybrid model, that supports a healthy work-life balance. For this role, we're looking for candidates who live close to our Cambridge office and could be in the office 2x a month.

    Your Work at Redgate Software:

    External Communications strategy & programme

  • Build and deliver the external communications programme, including the recommendation of objectives and KPIs.
  • Oversee public relations, collaborating with teams to develop news stories. Manage PR agencies and work with the Communications Director to set and measure goals.
  • Support Redgate's analyst relations, working with the AR agency, supporting briefing development and management, and overseeing content projects.
  • Help create and implement a plan for communicating Redgate's environmental, social, and governance program.
  • Identify and lead projects to improve Redgate's external communication.
  • Provide leaders with trusted communications advice and guidance on external communications.
  • Corporate and executive communications:

  • Understand Redgate's strategic priorities and create plans to communicate them to external audiences.
  • Support partner and customer marketing programs in telling their stories.
  • Build strong internal relationships to source news for communications plans.
  • Assist the CEO and executive team with formal and ad hoc communications.
  • Support the Corporate Communications Team:

  • Work with the Communications Director on issues and crisis management.
  • Support external and executive communication for strategic programs.
  • Ensure teams align with Redgate's corporate narrative and style.
  • Support the CMO, Communications Director, and Marketing Leadership team as needed.
  • Always act in Redgate's best interests.
  • What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proven experience in external communications, either in an external communications team, PR team, or at a PR agency, with experience of managing a small team directly or managing contractors or agencies.
  • You'll have outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail, and ideally, experience in a B2B, tech, or database environment.
  • You have experience of working directly with the media, with relevant media contacts an advantage.
  • You've worked with or for international organizations, with North American or DACH region experience an advantage.

  • A proactive team player, willing to learn and seek out information, confident with strong relationship-building skills.
  • You're comfortable working at all levels of an organization and working with confidential information and can work under pressure and multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability and confidence to communicate with people at all levels, both inside and outside of Redgate, you'll be organized, with the ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.

  • Base: £40,000 - £50,000
