    Title: Communications Manager - Waste

    Rate: £22.79

    Location: Hybrid- New Shire Hall, Alconbury

    Type: Temporary 6 months

    Company: Cambridgeshire County Council

    Opus People Solutions are collaborating with Cambridgeshire County Council to recruit an interim Communications Manager. This role involves working in harmony with CCC to achieve a variety of strategic objectives and outcomes.

    Specifically, the role includes managing a diverse corporate service focused on a particular area of the business. This entails handling functions such as:

    • Communications, marketing, and campaign development and delivery
    • Web and digital development and delivery
    • Brand management
    • Media management
    • Internal communications and stakeholder engagement
    • Providing communications support and advice to Chief Officers and Members

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain strong relationships with heads of service/Members, offering advice and support on communication and marketing, including facilitating necessary training.
    • Act as the lead Communications officer for the County Council in external meetings with partners and key stakeholders.
    • Utilize communication, web, digital, and marketing tools effectively to shape internal and external customer expectations in line with service delivery changes.
    • Utilize customer and employee insights to drive innovation and engage with different target audiences through appropriate channels.
    • Establish engagement tools to enable two-way communication with the Council, ensuring active involvement of citizens and staff in decision-making processes.
    • Provide management and leadership to Senior Communications Officers or Communications and Content Advisors, including deputizing for the Snr Communications Manager as necessary.
    • Participate in effective communications during emergencies, including being available for a 24-hour on-call communications service.
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators for departmental and specific campaigns, providing reports on effectiveness and ROI to relevant stakeholders.
