    As a Senior Backend Engineer at Grabyo; you will have exposure to the backend APIs and services that sit at the core of the Grabyo Platform. Some days you might be part of the team working at the core of services like live transcoding or automated closed captioning; while other days you might be part of the team architecting our platform to improve our path to microservices.

    Java, JavaScript, Go, NoSQL, serverless architectures, microservices, auto-scaling and auto-recovery, AWS Kinesis, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, media processing, Terraform - these are a few of the state-of-the-art techs you will be working with.

    To make sure you keep growing your knowledge around tech, we provide you with professional development opportunities like Hackathons, Tech hours, and have a development budget and pair programming days to improve our automated testing culture.

    Some of your responsibilities at Grabyo include (but are not limited to):

    • Building awesome APIs, architecting and building reliable microservices and serverless architectures
    • Working collaboratively with Product owners to deliver key security, scalability and reliability features
    • Taking ownership of your work/project by designing, building, maintaining, iterating and supporting new features and new products
    • Manage, lead, mentor, and inspire more junior members of the team

    Requirements

    How do I get this job?

    • Proven expertise and professional experience in Java, Spring
    • Proven expertise and professional experience databases (SQL and NoSQL)
    • Knowledge of micro-service oriented architectures
    • Proven expertise with cloud providers (bonus points for AWS - our chosen cloud provider)
    • Experience with testing (unit tests, UA tests, ...)
    • Passion for emerging technologies
    • Experience in a similar position

    The recruitment process

    We aim to have a quick and dynamic hiring process. This process lasts around two weeks and it has the following stages:

    • Initial face to face interview with a pair programming session(around 2 hours) to understand your interests and career expectations to ensure we are a good fit for each other.
    • Technical test to be completed at home.
    • Final face to face interview (around 3 hours) with our lead developers to go through your test and your technical knowledge.
