Description

Maintenance Engineer

Objectives:

Maximise production uptime.
Plan time, & resource to carry out TPM activities as per schedules.
Oversee all planned sub-contract services carried out on plant & equipment.
Ensure all paperwork completed on time & 100% up to date at each month end.
Able to fault find mechanical and electrical problems on all equipment.
Maintain cost centres to within agreed budgets.

Main Fuctions / Assigned Tasks

Tasks:

Prioritise the maintenance activities whether breakdowns or corrective.
Direct and support resources to respond to breakdowns effectively.
Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.
Carry out tasks as identified on maintenance / improvement requests.
Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately.
Attend daily production meeting and feedback daily requirements.
Ensure all plant equipment that is planned for TPM is made available, where practical.
Update annual maitenance plan.
Maintain spare parts stores and ensure all expenditure is recorded on standard report format.
Oversee comprehensive shift handover of information.
Identify whether specialist help is required to support a task.
Liaise with external suppliers to complete tasks as required.
Maintaince library of manuals and drawings.
Any other dutues as reasonably required by the Company.

Responsibility:

Take direction from Maintenance Group Leader.
Order replacement / spare parts as required.
Respond immediately to concerns raised by work team members.
Escalate serious concerns on plant breakdowns to the Maintenance Group Leader immediately.
Support Process Technician's needs.
Respect company systems and procedures.
Respect customer quality standard.
Health, safety and environmental awareness and following the HSE procedures and policies.

Required competenances (knowledge / expertise):

Flexibility for business requirements.
Motivation of team members.
Ability to work on equipment to fault find and correct problems.
Ability to know when to call out specialist/contractor for help as and when required.
Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic.
Plastic Injection Moulding - Tooling maintenance, cleaning and insert changes (250 to 1750 tonnes).

Required professional experience:

Experience of PLC fault finding and programming.
Multi-skilled electrical and mechanical.
Qualification in electrical or mechanical discipline.
Overhead Crane license preferable.
17th Edition regulations.

Other requirements:

Experience with production environments within the automotive industry.
Experience with injection moulding machines.
Experience of working in teams.
