My client is a public sector organisation in Central Birmingham who are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into an experienced Head of Financial Accounts this role will focus on the statutory reportingfor the organisation as well as managing a successful team of junior financial accountants and transactional staff.

The main responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant include:

Manage the year end process, working closely with the Head of Financial Accounts.
Lead on the production of a full set of statutory accounts for the organisation.
Coordinate the external audit.
Provide analysis and closely monitor audit adjustments.
Oversee the accurate and timely documentation of financial procedures and processes.
Line management two assistant financial accountants and two credit controllers.
A qualified accountant in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
Experienced in producing statutory accounts.
Ideally experienced in managing at least one team member.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
