Senior Teaching Fellow in Clinical Skills or Prescribing - Liverpool, United Kingdom - Liverpool John Moores University

    Default job background
    Full time, Part time
    Description

    The School of

Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences is at the forefront of higher education in Pharmacy as well as Pharmaceutical, Biomedical, Forensic, Cosmetic and Chemical Sciences. In fact, we have recently refurbished our clinical teaching suites and have built a new 6-bed simulated hospital ward to expand our facilities. Additionally, the School has excellent working relationships with industry, regulatory bodies and the NHS and has recently achieved the Athena Swan bronze award.

We are now seeking a Senior Teaching Fellow in Clinical Skills or Prescribing to join our growing team. You will be a UK-registered healthcare professional with relevant clinical experience (ideally prescribing experience) and will support the development and education of future non-medical-prescribing pharmacists. Clinical skills are key to this role, so you should have real-world experience in diagnosing and treating patients in the clinic. To foster inter-professional learning, we would particularly welcome applications from nurses and other healthcare professionals alongside pharmacists.

You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant clinical discipline and, ideally, an independent prescriber qualification. The ideal candidate will also have experience in teaching/ training/ preceptorship in a clinical setting. Experience in developing, delivering, and assessing activities related to simulation, experiential learning, as well as supervision of healthcare students on placements, would be advantageous.

You will be expected to make significant contributions to clinical aspects of the Master of Pharmacy programme (including simulation and/or clinical skills) and pharmacy-related postgraduate programmes, as well as other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes appropriate to your expertise. You will also be expected to actively engage in the development of new undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in relation to your discipline.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction, and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Satya Sarker (Director of School) at , or Professor Peter Penson (Professor of Pharmacy Practice & Head of Subject (Pharmacy)) at

LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all background and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief. All our appointments are made on merit.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
