    Your New Role

    Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role provides Product Assurance (QA/PA) to an approved product portfolio and introduction of new product (NPI), delivering cost effective, efficient solutions to meet Customer / partner requirements and Survitec business objectives.

    Liaising with associated disciplines, functions and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), key activities include: Managing a Team of experienced Quality/Technical Engineers, PA Inspectors, planning and surveillance, internal/external auditing to appropriate standards, attendance at project meetings, reviews and events, Customer liaison and Supplier / Partner surveillance and the provision of QA expertise and advice.

    The role will drive operational/manufacturing excellence delivering aviation standard governance include root cause analysis, defect analysis, process improvement, preventative action and process management activities.

    Driving aviation standard inspection on the manufacturing line and through life service

    This role may include occasional working at other Survitec in the UK and abroad and also work off-site at Customer or Supplier establishments.

    What You Can Expect from the Role

    Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

    ·Product Assurance

    ·Establishing and implementing aviation quality standards for products (NPI) or services

    ·Monitoring quality testing and identifying gaps in the testing

    ·Staying current on laws and regulations to ensure compliance

    ·Overseeing the product assurance team

    ·Training other employees on quality procedures

    ·Devising procedures to inspect and report quality assurance issues

    ·Monitoring all operations that affect quality

    ·Supervising and guiding inspectors, technicians and other staff

    ·Testing and sampling products, ensuring they meet set standards and specifications

    ·Developing quality control policies and standards for the company to follow

    ·Overseeing quality control processes, and a team of QA specialists

    ·Quality Assurance

    ·Plan and Implement Quality Assurance on assigned Projects/Products in accordance with Company QMS, Contract and applicable Regulatory Requirements

    ·Act as QA source of knowledge within the team with relevant experience of sector specific and industry standards

    ·Develop KPI's and generate monthly QA/PA reports

    ·Plan and perform project audits and surveillance activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plans and audit strategy

    ·Effective generation, assurance and management of non-conformances, with realistic stage target dates, actions agreed and agreed owners. Timely raising of Alerts when appropriate with escalation, as required, in order to reduce risks to the business

    ·Facilitate professional QA advice/guidance to company staff, suppliers and subcontractors

    ·Act as the customer's representative during manufacturing and installation of Survitec product to look to maximize customer satisfaction and support any actions required as a result of a complaint (formal or otherwise) or performance deficiency

    ·Support Customer Surveys and work with functions to establish any necessary improvements plans, resulting from customer feedback

    ·Facilitate customer complaints to closure

    ·Assist team leaders to train, develop, coach, induct and share knowledge with new starters and assist in the development of existing staff

    ·Perform analysis of Quality related metrics and initiate improvements as applicable

    ·Identify trends, issues, and opportunities associated with processes and/or products that may impact on the business

    ·Participate in operational function's monthly operational review to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Company processes and develop maturity

    Key Objectives

    ·To ensure 100% product assurance for new product introduction

    ·To adapt Aviation quality standard to Marine manufacturing, assembly, and installation

    ·To support and contribute to the decision-making process of the Quality team in support of the overall business objectives

    ·Investigate Marine Evacuation System customer complaints and Incident Reports using 5Y and 8D

    ·To increase "customer" satisfaction in the provision of quality services. To facilitate an ever-increasing uptake of best practice throughout the business

    ·To be responsible for the effective implementation of Quality processes

    ·To support the continuous improvement of the Quality processes

    ·To support any Quality Transformation plans, maturity assessments and associated improvement

    ·To assist in formulating budgets, plans, programmes, and targets for the area of responsibility

    The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

    Essential Criteria

    ·Significant experience of working within a quality environment in the aviation industry or similar

    ·Previous experience setting up quality procedures around quality assurance

    ·Good communicator with strong influencing and persuasion skills

    ·Quick learner, open minded and receptive to change

    ·Ability to facilitate when working with teams

    ·Willingness to challenge the status quo and improve on the standard

    ·Self-motivated

    ·Ready and willing to respond to a change in direction to keep things moving forward

    ·Team player with good self-awareness

    ·Strong disciplined approach to work

    ·An ability to interface well at all levels within the business, and with suppliers, partners and customers

    ·Ability to plan and organise workload to achieve deadlines in line with budgets

    ·Excellent decision and problem-solving skills, suing quality tools such as 5 Why and 8D

    ·Ability to understand the wider business needs and consider appropriate strategies to drive towards business goals

    ·Detailed knowledge of current quality and related working practices and standards

    ·Qualified auditor or similar experience is desirable
