    Description

    An exciting new opportunity has arisen in our team for a Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive within the Children and Families Public Law Department, undertaking Care and Child Protection work.

    If you apply direct and successfully pass your probation period, you will receive a one-off bonus of £500 (gross pay).

    Manage a caseload of child protection maters
    Advocacy
    Produce accurate detailed work to ensure excellence in legal services
    Time record in accordance with the Firm's policy and prepare bills as necessary
    Mentor and support junior members of the department
    At least three years' experience working within a Care Department as a Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive carrying a full caseload of care proceedings
    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook and good keyboard skills
    Accredited member of the Law Society's Children's Panel would be preferrable, but is not essential
    Ability to work within quality and case management systems (e.g. A team player and flexible in approach
    Sufficient knowledge of the legal process to understand the work being undertaken
    Knowledge of the work of Children and Families Public Law Department and the relevant law
    Driving licence and use of own vehicle preferable but ability to travel between offices, courts and stakeholder office essential
