    Description

    We are seeking a part time Course Administrator for a fixed term period until 30 June 2025, to provide efficient and effective course administrative support at our Service Training Centre, based in Maresfield, East Sussex.

    Within a team setting, you will be responsible for various transactional administrative processes enabling learners to be assigned to agreed training courses and support our Instructors/training providers with administration duties to deliver the courses and provide outcomes.

    You will be the first point of contact for defined courses on our database ensuring accurate records are maintained. Responding to telephone and email queries effectively will also be required.

    You will be expected to provide a reception function on a rota basis with other members of the Course Administration Team, on site.

    The successful candidate should be educated to GSCE level or equivalent and have excellent keyboard skills. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications including, Word, PowerPoint and Excel and previous experience of using relevant databases is essential. You will also need excellent verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills. The ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload will be necessary.

    The exact days/working pattern for this role will be agreed with the successful applicant. There will be a flexible approach to work location to allow the successful candidate to work from Service Training Centre, home and other East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service locations, subject to the specific requirements of this role.

    Notes

    Please note that all roles at East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will be subject to either DBS checks or a Police vetting process (the latter for roles based at Joint Headquarters in Lewes). The check will take place for the preferred candidate at the end of the selection process, before a final offer of employment can be made.
