    NHS England is supporting regional Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) units and affiliated Major Trauma Centres to improve pathways of care as part of the National SCI transformation programme.

    University Hospital Sussex is recruiting a team of experience Therapist/Nursing staff to develop and deliver a regional model of care that supports people living with Spinal Cord injury across Sussex.

    This is an exciting opportunity for applicants with clinical experience and skills within spinal care to play a key role in delivering this new proposed model.

    The successful applicant will work with colleagues across health and social care to implement and develop this service, which will support people along their journey, from their acute admission, transfer to inpatient rehabilitation and onwards into the community setting, through the provision of outreach support and advice for the person, their carers and for our community colleagues

    To be part of a dynamic networked team across Sussex delivering needs-based rehabilitation, care and support for people living with a spinal cord injury.

    This may require travel across Sussex as required based clinical need.

    To provide administrative and operational support to the Sussex Spinal Cord Injury service, hosted at Royal Sussex County Hospital at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

    To liaise with clinical and non-clinical professionals for the preparation and administration of the MDT meetings.
    To work collaboratively with other service providers with particular attention to detail and accurate data input.

    To contribute to the efficient management of department to enhance the experience for patients in the hospitals, Rehabilitation, and community settings by supporting the team in terms of audits, duty rosters, appraisal, sickness management, travel expenses and all other administrative duties essential to the smooth running of the service.

    Liaise with Estates, Maintenance, Medical Electronics, and IT to resolve problems.

    Ensuring any repairs, servicing and maintenance requirements are reported to ensure broken equipment, fixtures, fittings, and medical devices are dealt with in a timely manner and appropriate documentation is completed.

    To act as rota and absence management administrator and to attend relevant meetings and courses to discuss current and future issues.

    To Co-ordinate cases to be discussed at the departmental governance meetings and to help co-ordinate reports as required.
    NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a similar post
    GSCE English and Maths
    Experience of working in an administration or clerical role
    Proven skills in excel and developing monitoring systems
    Proven skill in interpreting data and report writing
    Knowledge of UHS NHS foundation trust IT and patient administration systems
