- Develops and implements enterprise-wide architecture, policies, patterns, processes and guardrails to embed the strategic application of change across HS2, ensuring compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions.
- Creates and reviews an enterprise capability strategy to support HS2's strategic requirements.
- Defines and supports continued maturity of agile Enterprise Architecture frameworks and influences the development and implementation strategic domain architectures (Data, Security, Network, Integration etc.).
- Supports the Head of Architecture and collaborates with other business stakeholders to develop the Technology strategy and the associated sub[1]strategies, artefacts and plans.
- Captures and prioritises of market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, in order to ensure alignment with HS2's technology strategy and roadmap.
- Collates information and creates reports and insights to support strategy management processes.
- Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve HS2's business performance.
- Defines assurance guardrails and architectural platform to guide the implementation and management of technology capabilities and systems across HS2.
- Develops architectural artefacts in line with strategy, policy and standards.
- Supports the translation of business drivers, goals and constraints into business objectives.
- Upholds and enforces architecture guardrails across solution and system design and across the different architecture domains (network, service, data etc.).
- Contributes expertise and ideas to the technology innovation agenda
- Actively promotes and embeds Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work, and supports and complies with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
- Enterprise and business architecture. Ability to support the translation of business drivers, goals and constraints into business objectives. Work under supervision to define required capabilities and support organisational changes to create operating models that meet business objectives.
- Governance and assurance. Ability to understand technical governance and participate in the assurance of a service.
- Problem definition and shaping. Ability to show awareness of the strategic context of the work and why it is important. Support strategic planning.
- Agile working. Ability to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices.
- Stakeholder communication. Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Knowledge of agile methods and their implications for Enterprise Architecture.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, such as TOGAF or Zachman Framework.
- Knowledge of architecture principles, patterns, and their application within an organisation.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to enterprise architecture, including but not limited to cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and other disruptive technologies.
- Knowledge of different delivery models including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies.
- Knowledge of the industry, business model, processes, and functional areas.
- Experience of supporting the design and implementation of IT services and Architectural Building Blocks.
- Experience of supporting design for complex solutions including risks and remedies.
- Experience of supporting high level designs for major solutions, managing design requirements and maintaining an audit trial for a design control process.
- Experience of defining complex technical models and communicating technical models clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience of successfully applying Enterprise Architecture methods and approaches to complex scenarios.

As an Enterprise Architect at HS2 you will be responsible for developing, designing, implementing, and governing HS2's Enterprise Architecture to ensure technology's alignment with business objectives.
