    Description
    ROLE – Commissioning Engineer (Electrical AP)
    LOCATION –Hinkley
    CLEARANCE – BPSS
    Working with NSG
    NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years.

    Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.

    This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK.

    The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

    1. The Role
    The Commissioning Engineer will be a specialist in:


    • Acting as Electrical AP for the project, managing isolations/lock-offs and holding/issuing permits for work.
    • Overseeing each stage of commissioning e.g. FAT, Setting to Work, Site Acceptance and Inactive.
    • Production of commissioning documentation for each stage
    • Witnessing of commissioning activities
    • Raising fault observations
    • Reading design documentation
    • Fault finding
    • Reporting any plant and equipment issues through to the NSG site Project Manager and support the rectification process in a timely manner.
    • Ensure and promote effective communication and working between disciplines to support the overall delivery of the project objectives.
    At least 3 years past experience of operating in the Commissioning Engineer role (or similar) in a project in a highly regulated industry:


    • Past experience working as an Electrical AP
    • Knowledge of relevant industry standards including IEC7671, ATEX intrinsic Safety etc
    • Ability to communicate and work well with others
    • Ability to Author documentation and produce design deliverables
    • Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 products
    • Good organisation
    • Driver's License
