    Description

    Job Title: Electronics Test Engineer at a Leading Provider of Smoke, Heat, and Carbon Monoxide Detectors

    About the Company: The company is a top supplier of smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide detectors catering to retail and trade sectors in the UK and Europe.

    The role involves verifying designs for components and products following the engineering V-model. The products undergo external certification at third-party test houses to ensure they meet safety and legal standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Validate existing designs aligning with production and certification needs.
    • Generate failure reports and collaborate with other engineering departments in failure evaluation.
    • Conduct testing and characterization of current and new components.
    • Design and create test fixtures to aid validation, test, and development.
    • Establish and execute test processes and procedures for validation activities.
    • Work within agreed project timelines.
    • Provide feedback to development and manufacturing teams for process and product enhancement.
    • Contribute to enhancing processes to achieve top-tier quality in line with the company's strategic objectives.

    Requirements:

    • BTEch Level 4/HNC/HND in Electronics with relevant certificates.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in electronics testing or engineering.
    • Proficiency in reading schematics and diagnosing failed electronic assemblies.
    • Thorough knowledge of engineering and testing procedures.
    • Familiarity with electronics, datasheets, and device capabilities.
    • Hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment like oscilloscopes, soldering stations, DMM, and signal generators.
    • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Project management abilities.
    • Degree in Electronics or a related field.
    • Experience with gas sensing technologies.
    • Familiarity with data capture software such as Tera term and real term.
    • Experience in EMC testing.
    • Previous work with LCM software, preferably ARAS.
