Family Support Practitioners (3 posts)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us in a Family Practitioner role. The post will be based at County Hall, Norwich.
If you have experience of working with children and families and have a passion for supporting them in affecting sustained change then we would like to hear from you.
We are seeking to recruit a Family Practitioner to work in the Norwich Family Support Team. You will undertake direct work with children and their families, working within statutory legislation and delivering interventions prioritised by the line manager.
You will be able to hold a caseload of Tier 3 cases. Our purpose in Family Support is to keep children and young people safe through early intervention.
Our practitioners provide support to families that have the most complex needs, whose situations without targeted intervention will escalate to become acute, chronic and result in the child/young person and their family requiring social care or other statutory intervention.
We do this by working alongside the family, their network and other professionals, naming and addressing worries and creating plans which identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and empower the family to affect change.
The role of Family Practitioner is varied and at times can be challenging so a high level of resilience is needed.
It is fast paced so you will need to be flexible, and use your initiative and skill set to manage your workload.
A family's needs and situation can change so you will need to be able to prioritise, adapt your practice and remain calm in what could be difficult situations.
You will be accountable for achieving required team performance targets and being responsible for your own caseload and at times supporting others with theirs.
Family Support encompasses the work of a broad range of partners supporting families and individuals during often challenging and difficult times.
There is a strong emphasis on partnership working across all agencies, and all Family Support Practitioners undertake direct work with families in the community to bring about long-lasting social change.
We can offer you a friendly and supportive working environment where learning and development is promoted through the support of an experienced management group.
