    Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer working at our manufacturing site, you'll be given a tailored training plan to work through, supported by your allocated mentor and manager. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be given greater exposure to your division and team members' roles.

    What will the apprentice be doing?



    We are looking for our 2024 intake of Engineering Apprentices to shape the future of our Engineering function at Marshalls.

    This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship will cover a structured course provided by a local college with support from your mentors on-site. Your first year will involve attending college 5 days per week, with some block release outside of college term time, so you would need to make sure you can commute to both the Sittingbourne site and the IPS Training Centre, ME2 4DU.

    You will work as part of a busy engineering team with the ultimate goal of becoming a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. Your main responsibilities will include:

    • To ensure the continuous running of the production process
    • Eliminate downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
    • You will work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

    What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?



    Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate. In Year 2, the Apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate. Starting in Year 2 and continuing until completion in Year 4. The Apprentice will continue to receive regular training contact with IPS all throughout the programme.

    What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?



    Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to go into an Engineering Team Member position.
