    Head of Engineering (Software and Hardware), B2B

    Hybrid Working - Buckinghamshire

    Our client have a global presence and are a leader when it comes to delivering consumer goods through new and innovative channels. The have already disrupted the market with a number of future facing concepts that enable them to stay ahead of their competitors, grow their brand internationally and reach a wider customer base.

    They are currently seeking a Head of Engineering who will join them and become responsible for leading the development of technology strategy, products and services across multiple B2B channels. You will collaborate with the wider technology functions (hardware, firmware and software) to ensure a clear and aligned target architecture for B2B solutions.

    You will be working on future facing concepts that deliver the clients new products to much a wider customer base through a variety of customer solutions and delivery methodologies.

    The Head of Engineering will:

    • Manage multiple agile software engineering teams up to c.40 technical staff
    • Define an architecture which enables B2B systems to scale for future growth and is in line with broader business architectural direction and multi-year strategy
    • Agree product strategy and communicate this across the senior stakeholders
    • Ensure alignment across all capability teams
    • Maintain a highly committed set of delivery teams, and hire the correct talent to build and maintain the products
    • Define the best strategy and methodology behind the scalability and delivery of physical products at scale to deliver goods to a global customer base

    We are looking for someone who has:

    • Background across Software Engineering and being technically hands on with excellent agile development methodology
    • Experience working with hardware or firmware teams to understand how products are built and how they interact with the software
    • Experience in understanding the customer experience when dealing with physical products
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present, with commercial awareness
    • Manage risk, influence change, motivate teams, create a strong culture
    • Prioritise projects and delivery
    • Experience working within a B2B business (ideally across FMCG, Retail)

    This a hybrid working role, and initially requires a good level of visibility. You will need to be able to get to Buckinghamshire 2-3 days a week.
