    About Nuclear Waste Services (NWS)

    Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) was created with the vision and purpose to make nuclear waste permanently safe, sooner. We bring together the UK's leading nuclear waste management capabilities and our mission is to be the 'one-stop shop' for all radioactive waste management and disposal solutions for the UK. We are a key part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group, with the collective long-term mission to clean up nuclear sites sustainably, safely, and securely.

    Vacancy: HR Director

    NWS seeks to appoint a permanent HR Director to help realize our vision. Reporting to our Corporate Services Director, you will be a key pillar in both our leadership team and the broader NDA group HR community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Implementing corporate decisions and initiatives, including developing long-term strategic vision and integrated people strategy.
    2. Inspiring and developing HR teams for resilience, consistency, and quality.
    3. Working with key stakeholders – NWS board, trades unions, regulators, and NDA group – to deliver critical programs and projects.
    4. Standardizing colleagues' employment terms and conditions.

    You will need:

    • Professionally recognized HR qualification, underpinned by Chartered Membership of CIPD.
    • Operational HR leadership experience in a complex, multi-discipline/matrix style organization.
    • Strong employee relations expertise in strategic initiatives and planning.
