    Job summary

    We are looking for a knowledgeable, forward thinking pharmacist to lead on Education and Training across our Cancer Services teams (Aseptics, Haematology and Oncology) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT).

    ICHNT is the cancer centre for North West London, and manages patients with a variety of different and complex cancer pathologies.

    ICHNT offers a fully multi-disciplinary approach and the successful applicant will work closely with our extended cancer teams.

    The post is newly created and the postholder will be responsible for leading on the training and accreditation in clinical screening of chemotherapy and will manage the band 7 rotation programme across aseptics, haematology and oncology.

    You will require chemotherapy screening skill and preferably previous aseptic experience.

    Main duties of the job

  • To lead on training and accrediting all pharmacists (band 7 and 8a) in clinical screening of Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT) using the BOPA passport
  • To lead on all education and training across Pharmacy cancer services
  • To manage the band 7 Pharmacist rotational programme across aseptics/haematology and oncology
  • To work with the senior management team in cancer services to ensure we provide a high quality, patient focussed service.
  • To provide clinical pharmacy services, department and ward based, in line with Trust procedures and national legislation.
  • To lead on all training around intrathecals and be responsible for the management of all intrathecal registers

    Education/ qualifications

    Essential

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • Independent Prescribing
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Significant experience as a cancer services pharmacist and a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
  • Experience in management of others
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess and identify training needs
  • Previous experience of clinical audit work and/or pharmacy practice research
  • Desirable

  • Experience of developing training plans
  • Experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services using electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) systems.
  • Skills/knowledge/ abilities

  • Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management
  • Good personal organisation and time management skills
