    Description

    The Role

    We are seeking to recruit a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Nurse Service, based at University Hospital Hairmyres. The successful candidate will work autonomously within the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient centred cardiac rehabilitation, including inpatient and outpatient education and support, nurse led clinics and exercise programme to promote recovery and self management.

    What we'll need you to bring

    • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
    • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
    • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
    • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
    • Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
    • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
    • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
    • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Effective time management skills
    • Working knowledge of basic information technology

    It would be great if you also have

    • Completion of an accredited clinical examination qualification, or willingness to undertake, is desirable.

    22.3 hours

    Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

    Location and Working Pattern

    This role will be based in Cardiology within University Hospital Hairmyres

    The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday pattern (days negotiable).

    From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

    NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
