    Description

    Senior AV Installation Engineer Position at Meridian Business Support

    Meridian Business Support is collaborating with a well-respected client to fill the role of a Senior AV Installation Engineer in Glasgow.

    If you're a seasoned Audio-Visual Installation Engineer looking to take your career to the next level, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

    This role will have you working hands-on with our installation team on various sites and projects.

    • Experience in a similar senior-level audio-visual role or readiness to transition from a junior position
    • Background in working on commercial premises and construction sites
    • Positive "Can Do" attitude
    • Committed, self-motivated, with strong organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks for increased efficiency and minimal downtime
    • Capable of working independently and as part of a project team

    Responsibilities:

    • Installing cabling and containment systems up to current standards
    • Mounting, connecting, and commissioning AV equipment
    • Updating job details on our cloud-based management system
    • Demonstrating equipment to clients
    • Assisting with technical queries from installation teams and other departments
    • Participating in project meetings as needed
    • Mentoring junior AV installers

    Requirements:

    • Full UK Driving License
    • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in any Audio-Visual Role
    • Ability to install and commission modern video distribution and control systems
    • Understanding of audio and video signal flow, routing, processing in analog and digital domains
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks in the AV industry
    • Proficiency with control protocols like RS232/485, IR, and TCP/IP
    • Experience in ethernet-based AV distribution methods (Dante, AVoIP)
    • Expertise in commercial TV distribution systems (IRS and IPTV)
    • Skills in terminating, testing, troubleshooting various connectors
    • Ability to select appropriate cable types for applications
    • Capacity to interpret and work from plan drawings and schematics
    • Familiarity with digital signage systems and lighting control technologies

    Location/Hours:

    This is a full-time, field-based role with standard hours from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, offering frequent overtime opportunities and projects nationwide. While our base is in Hillington, applicants from anywhere in Scotland are welcome due to our wide geographic scope.
