    Health & Safety Manager

    Birkenhead (CH62)

    Monday to Friday (7am – 4pm)

    Purpose

    Join us as the Health and Safety Manager, a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our employees at our Merseyside manufacturing plant. You will spearhead efforts to uphold health and safety regulations, establish safety protocols, and foster a safety-oriented culture throughout the company.

    Tasks & responsibilities: (Including but not limited to)

    • Provide expertise and motivation to all levels of the site on health, safety, and environmental practices.
    • Implement ALPLA's safety programs, address various hazards, and minimize risks in operations.
    • Organize safety training and toolbox talks for all employees.
    • Cultivate a positive health, safety, and environment culture across all teams.
    • Conduct continuous risk assessments and address incidents promptly.
    • Coordinate external risk assessments and change impact evaluations.
    • Lead internal audits following ISO45001 standards.
    • Chair health and safety committee meetings.
    • Engage in additional site responsibilities and projects as needed.

    Education / Experience:

    • Hold relevant HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma / certificate.
    • Bring substantial Health and Safety management experience, preferably in FMCG (packaging).
    • Have exposure to diverse production machinery and external contractor management.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in health and safety standards within ISO14001 and 45001 frameworks.
    • Possess strong MS Office skills and analytical capabilities.
    • Display leadership qualities with problem-solving skills and line management experience.
