Description

x2 Planned Maintenance Surveyor (P01238):

Job description

Do you want to join a team dedicated to renovating and refurbishing thousands of homes each year?

In 2023 we are stepping up our efforts to improve our tenants' homes with new windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms, roofs and energy efficiency measures planned, costing over £7m.

We need the additional expertise of 2 Planned Maintenance Surveyors to help lead our refurbishment projects alongside our fantastic external contractors who you will help procure and manage over the contract periods.

Do you want to broaden your skills and get involved in innovative building projects?

We are at the beginning of our journey to deliver greener housing schemes such as Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) and whole home retrofit to raise our EPC ratings and reduce carbon emissions.

We have already installed 50 ASHPs and plan to install a further 70 this year, as well as piloting other technologies which need your help to complete.

With an aging housing stock there are always unique projects requiring initiative and innovative solutions to remedy building faults and that is where you will come in with your experience of identifying common issues and putting in place projects to remedy them.

Do you want an opportunity to make your mark?

This is a key role within the service as we work toward meeting new 'Greener Housing' targets and our enhanced Asset Management responsibilities.

You will be responsible for managing a set of projects and contracts across 5,200 council owned social housing properties.

What is in it for you?

  • 26 days annual leave (plus an additional 5 days after 5 years' service)
  • Local Government Pension scheme
  • Onsite parking
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Hybrid working
  • Wide range of employee discounts at high street retailers, including supermarkets, stores, and restaurants
  • Cycle to Work scheme which could save you around 40% on cycles and accessories

We believe that all our employees make a valuable contribution to the work of the council and that's why we encourage a trusting and open culture where each employee is supported and respected equally, where ideas are actively sought, and self-development promoted.

We recognise the value of a highly motivated and engaged workforce and we actively encourage a good work/life balance.

We offer a modern and flexible smart working approach, including remote and home working whenever this fits with service delivery.
