- Provide excellent direct clinical care for patients presenting to the ED, while working to maintain operational standards

- Ensure that accurate, timely and sufficiently comprehensive information is communicated to our patients, their carers and General Practitioners. This includes the clinical coding of every patient episode and the provision of discharge letters for all patients and for those sent to AAU
- liaise with colleagues within the Department, specialist teams providing inpatient care, the Clinical Site Practitioners, the Psychiatric Liaison Team, Rapid Response Service and the statutory, voluntary and other bodies involved in the provision of patient care within the community
- review pathology and imaging reports and initiate appropriate action as required
- participate in the Clinical Governance role of the Department, including quality improvement, risk management and the investigation of formal complaints and incidents
- Active participation in departmental teaching Person Specification
- oMBBS or equivalent.
- o ALS / ACLS or have arranged a place on a course.
- oATLS/APLS/ PALS/ EPLS
- oMinimum of 3 years' experience post graduate training to enter as a Trust ST3 grade.
- oExperience of working in the UK-NHS or EU or equivalent health care system other than a clinical attachment.
- oMinimum of 2 years exposure to Emergency Medicine (A&E) in a specialist training programme or equivalent.
- MRCEM (any part) or equivalent.
- Any of the FRCEM exams

Would you like to work for one of the top performing Emergency Departments in the country?
We are looking to recruit a Trust ST3 doctor to expand our emergency care function. You will be responsible for the supervision, admission, clerking and day to day acute care of your patients in the emergency department, as assigned.
Although this post is not recognised for training, it is offered the same opportunities as our training posts, with access to in-house training and you will be encouraged to attend the academic teaching programme. You will be fully supported by a Clinical Supervisor. The post is designed to offer experience to doctors who wish to perhaps pursue further training in an acute specialty, or wish to obtain/ are working towards an acute specialty membership qualification. A high number of our Trust ST3 doctors have accessed a national training post having undertaken at least a year or two in this role with us.
