Course Leader BA (Hons) Costume Design & Construction
Senior Lecturer - £43, - £54, p.a. pro rata
About the Role
Our Costume Design & Construction BA (Hons) course sits within the Design for Performance subject area, which is part of the Design & Digital Arts Department within the Nottingham School of Art and Design. The course benefits from an excellent reputation and recruit's high calibre students with strong creative and academic abilities and is designed to develop these talents to ensure that our graduates leave us with unique combinations of knowledge, skills and attributes that are aligned to the creative industries of the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to become the Course Leader as we start to deliver a new ambition and fresh curriculum. The recent revalidation of the course has opened out the discipline to include film, TV and live events as consumers of costume as well as the introduction of new technologies. You will provide academic leadership for the course and its new ambitions and will work with the course team to deliver a dynamic and exciting curriculum, ensuring the quality and currency of the course and student experience. You will take an active role in shaping and further enhancing the course design and will work in partnership with the Principal Lecturer in the subject area to deliver the strategic aims and ambitions of the course and department.
You will contribute to a range of modules across the subject area and will be able to offer the required knowledge and attributes as detailed in the attached person specification in one or more of the following areas:
You will have an excellent understanding of the subject area as well as knowledge of contextual research and current professional practice within the Costume Design field, and will possess both academic and industry experience within the subject area.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
