We are offering you the opportunity to become part of our dynamic team at the Sterile Services & Decontamination Unit, Lostock, Bolton as a Team Leader.

We have a vacancy for 37.5 hours working Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm.

The Team Leader is expected to undergo all aspects of training, which is geared to equip them with the technical knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out the wide range of tasks within the department, requiring a high degree of numeracy, record keeping ability and attention to detail.

You will be liaising with customers and staff from all levels across SRFT and WWL sites.


You will be expected to be pro-active in seeking ways to improve the processes and procedures within the unit that will sustain effective and efficient ways of working, thus driving the continuous improvement of service quality and performance.

On-Call


Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.


To assist the Operation managers and Shift Coordinators to manage the Department so that its personnel, plant and other resources are organised to meet effectively the foreseeable needs of the Theatres, Wards and Departments within the Trust for sterilised and disinfected medical or surgical equipment, and other items authorised by the Trust's policy.

The post holder will be expected to continually seek ways to improve the processes and procedures within the unit that will sustain effective and efficient ways of working which will drive the continuous improvement of service performance.
