    Description

    Data Architect

    • SQL, PowerBI, Azure synapse data warehouse, ETL
    • Leading data transformation & strategy within the business
    • Southampton based 2-3 days per week

    Spectrum IT has teamed up with a prominent green energy consultancy dedicated to assisting companies in their journey towards achieving net zero emissions. They offer customized sustainable solutions that lead to significant cost reductions, energy savings, and a decrease in carbon footprints. Their impact is felt across various sectors including education, parts of the NHS, and private companies in the UK, contributing to a sustainable and environmentally-friendly future.

    As part of a comprehensive data transformation initiative, the company is establishing a new Azure synapse data warehouse to centralize various forms and sources of data into a single platform. The Data architect will play a vital role in this endeavor by assessing the current data systems, pinpointing strengths and weaknesses, and devising a strategic plan for data management.

    Key Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in SQL querying and database administration
    • Strong expertise in PowerBI with a focus on report and dashboard creation
    • In-depth knowledge of Azure data warehouses and data lakes
    • Capability to evaluate the company's data architecture and recognize areas for improvement
    • Previous experience in designing intricate Azure data structures
    • Experience in integrating diverse data streams
    • Effective communication and ability to understand project requirements
    • Proficient in stakeholder management and project coordination

    Beneficial skills:

    • Background in computer science or software engineering
    • Relevant Azure certifications or qualifications
    • Experience in finance, insurance, or energy industries
