    Description

    Are you eager to enhance your expertise in sourcing management and procurement? An exciting opportunity awaits you as a Sourcing/Procurement Specialist at our Newmarket office.

    About the role

    This role is pivotal in sourcing new suppliers, leading contract negotiations, and maximising our return on spend. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll be making recommendations that impact the team deliverables and the business operations. This position empowers you to manage and develop a portfolio of suppliers while ensuring the appropriate level of controls throughout the procurement cycle. A motivated approach and an analytical mindset are crucial for success in this role.

    In this role, your responsibilities will include:

    · Managing a portfolio of suppliers.

    · Driving cost reduction with a focus on total cost of ownership.

    · Negotiate formal arrangement with suppliers.

    · Ensuring sufficient controls throughout the procurement cycle.

    · Managing risks inherent in sourcing activities.

    · Providing support to the Procurement Team.

    · Delivering operational efficiency.

    · Ensuring the quality and timeliness of information.

    To be considered for the role, you should demonstrate:

    · A tertiary qualification and over four years of experience in procurement or project management, with a proven track record of achievements.

    · Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

    · Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

    · Versatile in adapting to different tools, processes and environments.

    · Open minded and inquisitive by nature.

    · Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

    · Procurement experience with exposure to supply chain, particularly in livestock, would be advantageous.
