What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns and gains valuable experiences.

Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

This includes:

Paid employment with holiday leave
Handsonexperience
At least 20% offthejob training
Formal assessments which leads to a nationally recognised qualification (level 3 qualified Safety, Health and Environment Technician)

Main Duties

During your apprenticeship you will work with the Health, Safety and Facilities department to advise on the statutory health, safety and environmental requirements as they affect the company's operations.

Day to day you will assist by carrying out daily administrative tasks, helping to maintain the Health and Safety Management System.

You will be involved with emergency arrangements, occupational health, manual handling, control of hazardous substances, PPE, risk assessments as well as developing, reviewing and checking on the implementation of safe systems of work.

You will engage with all aspects of the organisation to support the embedment of a culture that ensures everyone is able to return to their family and friends unharmed every day whilst also protecting and enhancing the global land, air and water resources for future generations.

This will be achieved by inspiring and influencing others to see the benefit of working responsibly, understanding the legal framework and showing how safety, health and environmental management can enhance operational activities.

What criteria must I meet to qualify for this apprenticeship?

You must be at least 16 years old but there is no upper age limit.

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Variable start times to suite the business.

Salary:
£9,379.50-£12,000.00 per year
