    About the team
    :

    The Tax Team at TikTok helps ensure that our company and all our products are tax-compliant throughout different regions and countries.

    Also, the Tax Team provides support to internal requests and works with multiple different stakeholders to support product and business launches and new features.


    Position Summary:

    TikTok is seeking an enthusiastic Indirect Tax Analyst to join the Europe Tax team to support its rapid business growth in Europe.

    The ideal candidate has an accounting or tax background, with an interest in getting involved in indirect taxes in an exciting and fast-paced environment.

    They will work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (. Accounting, Legal, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, HR) to add valuable input in multiple jurisdictions. Experience in the TMT sector is a plus, as is a background in tax compliance work.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • VAT

    Compliance Support:
    Support VAT compliance across the region, assisting in the preparation of UK and EU VAT returns. Assist with VAT registrations across various jurisdictions.
    • VAT
    Payments and Refunds: Process VAT liability payments within relevant statutory deadlines. Support obtaining timely VAT refunds in jurisdictions where the compliance footprint allows for VAT repayment.- Coordination with

    External Advisors:
    Coordinate with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings in the UK and EU

    • Tax Compliance Queries:
    Assist with tax compliance queries from TikTok businesses across Europe

    • Correspondence with Tax Authorities:
    Assist in correspondence with local tax authorities, including coordinating responses to compliance and audit inquiries

    • Tax Technology Implementation:
    Assist with tax technology implementations and automation in ERP and IT systems to drive efficiency. Improve end-to-end tax compliance processes and controls.- Audit Support: Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis

    • Process Improvement:
    Assist with mapping VAT processes and identify areas for improvement

    • Invoice Processing:
    Process third-party invoices (from external tax advisors) for payment.


    • A passion for learning new tax concepts and technical research.
    • Ability to build relationships with internal teams and advisors.
    • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent oral and written English.

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of accounting and/or tax principles.
    • Professional accountancy and/or tax exams
    • AAT or ATT.
    • Experience in indirect tax in the UK and/or EU.
    • Experience in the TMT industry and related tax issues.
    • Proficiency in other European languages.
