    School Nurse Band 5 Islington TERM TIME contract (Term Time Only )

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered paediatric/adult nurses to join Islington Mainstream School Nursing Service. Our school nursing teams are committed to meeting the health needs of children and young people attending schools in Islington. We offer a robust band 5 professional development programme linked to Herts University with the emphasis of growing our own Specialists Community Public Health Nurses(HV or SN). Main duties of the job We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses with excellent communication skills to join our team. A desire to work with children, young people and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds is essential. Our friendly and supportive teams can offer the successful candidates a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing clinical/child protection supervision.     Person Specification Education and experience Essential
    • RGN and/or RSCN/Child Branch qualification, with entry onto the NMC Register
    • Experience working in the community and/or with children and families
    Knowledge, Skills and Ability Essential
    • Excellent communication skills: IT, written and oral
    • Willingness to support management of change.
    • High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to and evaluate health needs.
    • Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance.
    • Ability to apply research to practice
    • Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements and the ability to make decisions in these areas.
    • Ability to set personal objectives and manage time, priorities and stressful situations
    • Ability to delegate work appropriately and safely
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
    • Commitment to the development of excellent services, which focus on improved outcomes for children.
    • Awareness of Equal Opportunities and Valuing Diversity
