    About this role

    The Aladdin Product Team sits at the heart of BlackRock, responsible for designing, building, and operating Aladdin. Being a member of Aladdin Product means working with the most thoughtful in the industry to build innovative products that shape financial markets. Are you interested in establishing a career foundation at the intersection of compliance and portfolio management processes and technology products?

    As a Product Owner with focus on Investment Compliance products, you will be responsible for tactically leading a dynamic development squad. You will learn how to elicit requirements, prioritize backlogs, map dependencies, and mitigate development blockers, aligning feature delivery with our broader Aladdin product vision. You will have the opportunity to learn about and interact with a variety of core Aladdin capabilities spanning the entire investment lifecycle. You will also closely connect with our client community, and BlackRock business strategy to steer our product's direction. Contributing to diverse engineering and Aladdin business teams, we will deliver cutting-edge investment compliance capabilities and superb customer experiences.

    This role is accountable for delivering automation capabilities for configuring, calculating and understanding complex compliance requirements for BlackRock and the Aladdin client community. A successful product owner will help define a clear product vision, execute on this vision, and ensure continuous partner feedback and alignment.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Shape and execute on the product vision for Aladdin's Investment Compliance products
    • Own part of the Investment Compliance product backlog, from feature definition and prioritization to development readiness. Collaborate with partners to define deployment strategy
    • Attends all key agile development ceremonies such as stand-ups, grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives
    • Partner with developers through the development process; incorporate user feedback
    • Lead a virtual product team to build tangible prototypes that clearly articulate business benefits
    • Serve as a resource to internal and external clients with regard to our capabilities in the context of their business
    • Partner with the Aladdin Client Business to help define and lead opportunities related to investment compliance workflows in the market place
    • Define and measure business and technical performance metrics to advise product strategy
    • Stay attuned to industry and technology trends, markets and alternative product offerings and conceptualize impacts to the product offering

    You have:

    • 2-4 years of Product Ownership / Business Analysis or meaningful experience desired
    • Unbridled interest in understanding and solving problems
    • Basic familiarity with the investment lifecycle desired
    • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and organisational / planning skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate up and down the organization
    • Ability to work and deliver results independently, self-starter
    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance or equivalent practical experience
    • Strong technical abilities, including familiarity working with SQL and with APIs
