Illusory truth effect of passwordless authentication
"The more misinformation is repeated, the more likely you are to think that it is true." - I found this remark in this BBC report - https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20210629-south-americas-bitter-divide-over-a-toxic-covid-cure
Its title quickly drove me to come up with this phrase “Global divide over a toxic cure of password predicament”; Chlorine dioxide is to Covid what ‘passwordless login’ is to password predicament.
"The brain tends to mistake familiarity for fluency: the faster you process something, the more familiar you are with it, the more likely you are to believe it," - It is particularly so when the source of misinformation includes such global big names as Google, Microsoft and Apple. To make the matter worse, the misinformation has been spread through well-known biz-tech media that make no effort of fact/falsity-check.
I no longer feel as isolated as before, though, as quoted in my previous post –https://www.linkedin.com/posts/hitoshikokumai_dont-believe-the-passwordless-hype-activity-6816176717225443328-R9tz"> “The first SANE report on passwordless hype”
