Salary:
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum (plus car allowance)


Our client was established in 2005 to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs including Prader-Willi Syndrome and we are working with them to recruit an Area Director to lead, support and inspire the teams to deliver residentialcare and supported living services that enable individuals to live an enjoyable life as independently as possible.


You will support services in the Anglia region and the surrounding services, so access to a car and a willingness to drive is essential.


As someone who prioritises their people and the quality of the services they provide, this role will oversee several services across the company portfolio.

We're looking for an action-oriented and customer-focused Area Director who can lead the culture,direction, and performance of the Area.


Purpose of the Area Director
In addition to nurturing safe, supported, and inspiring services in the Area, other responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong leadership to Service Managers and Teams, developing an environment that supports them to thrive and deliver their best
  • Delivering the Area's financial and growth targets, and the People and Quality KPI's
  • Supporting Service Managers in ensuring services are safely staffed and optimally aligned to their budget
  • Ensuring the Service environments, both inside and out, are appropriately and adequately maintained

The Area Director will:


  • Be educated to Degree Level or equivalent, preferably in Health & Social Care
  • Be willing and able to travel and visit services 4 days per week
  • Have excellent communication skills verbal and written with good report writing and analytical skills
  • Have strong business acumen and an ability to analyse data, prepare reports and organise rotas
  • Understand current care practices, government initiatives and regulatory requirements, as well as audits and inspections
  • Demonstrate an ability to translate theory into practice in a practical and personcentred way

We're looking for the following experience:

  • Significant experience working as a Manager within the Learning Disability sector, preferably Supported Living and/or Residential Care
  • Experience of leading people and teams across multiple sites within the Health & Social Care sector
  • Experience of managing regulated services, and the performance of registered managers in a regulated setting
  • Experience of preparing and managing financial budgets
  • Experience of working closely with the CQC and Local Authorities
