Capability Development Associate - London, United Kingdom - Financial Conduct Authority

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description

Salary: National ranging from £39,100 to £42,200 and London from £41,500 to £45,000

Are you passionate about development and keen to deepen your experience in the areas of capability development and employee experience? If so this could be the role for you.

    The team/department

The FCA is on an exciting journey as we transform what we do and how we work to become a more forward-thinking, proactive regulator. Our people are the key to our success as a regulator, and our ambition is to build a strong learning culture that equips our colleagues with the capabilities to perform at their best.

Within the HR Division, Organisational Capability seeks to enable organisational performance through developing the capabilities our colleagues need today and for the future. Our work is based in effective diagnosis and delivery of people solutions that drive the organisation forward.

Through working with other experts on the team, you will support the delivery of strategic HR projects and programmes – enabling you to strengthen your project co-ordination and internal/ stakeholder management skills and grow your confidence to lead projects on your own.

    What you will be doing

  • You will be responsible for the programme management of our apprenticeship offering (including pastoral care of learners, supporting line managers and the day-to-day supplier management of our learning providers) and sponsored study offering
  • You will work on projects which help develop organisational capability and will have a genuine interest in how well delivered people practices support effective organisational performance and, in our case, better outcomes for consumers and markets
  • Leading and/or supporting on capability / learning agendas, working with our business stakeholders and sponsors to identify, develop and strengthen key capabilities that support our business plan and designing learning solutions
  • You will work on some projects independently, and for other larger projects you will work as part of a matrix project team, but in either case you will deliver effectively within your accountabilities
  • Analysing data and translating insights into proposals and delivery plans
  • Evaluating the success of key learning activities and reporting back to stakeholders
  • Monitoring activity, resource, budget and risk management within allocated projects and escalating issues as appropriate to more senior colleagues
  • What you will get from the role

  • The role will give you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders across the FCA
  • You will be part of a supportive team who will help you grow your expertise in a Centre of Expertise role. We encourage a growth mindset, and support individuals to grow and stretch their potential through interesting and stretching work and relevant training and development
  • You will have the opportunity shape and deliver the capability development agenda across the whole organisation and to work with and influence a wide range of industry professionals, both internally and externally to the FCA
  • Our competitive flexible benefits scheme gives you the opportunity to create a personalised benefits package, tailored to suit your lifecycle. You can use this allowance to purchase additional benefits such as dental or cycle to work or you have the option top up your base salary by taking this as cash.

Core benefits that you will receive as standard are:

  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • Private healthcare with Bupa
  • A non-contributory Pension of at least 8% of basic salary each month (there are several contribution levels that increase depending on your age – up to 12% a month once you reach age 35)
  • Life assurance of eight times your basic salary
  • Income protection
  • We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

The skills and experience you will have

    Minimum

We are a signatory to the Government's Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, who best meet the minimum criteria for a role.

  • Experience of designing and building blended learning solutions that are proven to support defined objectives
  • Experience of evaluating the success of learning by building and presenting relevant management information and reports to key stakeholders
  • Essential

  • Experience of successfully delivering projects to agreed outputs, time and budget
  • Experience of utilising learning technologies to drive innovation and blended learning
  • Evidence of use of data analysis and interpretation to inform actions

  • A pragmatic, proactive and curious mind-set with the ability to work flexibly on different projects to deliver effective solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills
  • Motivated, with the tenacity to drive your own development and thrive on owning new initiatives which stretch you and enhance the future HR proposition
