    We are delighted to invite applications for a part time Occupational Health Nurse Advisor post. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for you to become part of our friendly Occupational Health team to provide both site-based and Trust wide OH services.

    ** Please note there is 1 post available: 1 post 30 hours per week at QEQM Hospital, Margate

    The successful applicant will be required to have a broad clinical experience and be committed to a career in Occupational Health.     Please note interviews are planned to take place Week Commencing 20th May 2024. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation and written report for the interview process. Full details will be provided.

    Main duties of the job The SEQOHS accredited Occupational Health team is multidisciplinary and work hard to provide an excellent service to all employees in the Trust and other commercial and public sector clients. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and personal organisation.

    The key elements of this role are to deliver the full remit of occupational health, including participation in health surveillance programmes.To undertake a comprehensive assessment of clients including those with diverse or complex presentations using clinical reasoning skills.Undertake assessments and provide health at work advice to management for potential staff following an offer of employment.

    Recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive client centred objectives and plans for clients referred to the occupational health department.

    To undertake health surveillance, immunisations, in line with current protocols and advise clients and managers of outcomes, referring/liaising with appropriate agencies where necessary (e.g. OH physician, GP) About us We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.

    • 2 years' experience at Band 5/6 in an Occupational Health setting.
    • Experience as an OH specialist practitioner
    Skills Essential
    • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
    • Expert clinical skills including, Health surveillance and competent immunisation and vaccination skills.
    • Excellent communication skills including accurate written and verbal skills and handle situations with distressed clients sensitively..
    • Can you provide an example of Occupational Health Nurse assessment to demonstrate a report plan for the health needs of someone in employment and absent from work.
    Desirable
    • Competent IT Skills.
    Knowledge Essential
    • Sound clinical knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health within the NHS/Healthcare setting
    • Please describe one current issue relating to NHS work and its impact to staff health.
    • Please state a workplace regulation regarding health at work
    Desirable
    • Attendance of appropriate courses/study days that have enhanced/developed specialist & professional knowledge.
    • Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues.
