The Wales School for Social Prescribing Research (WSSPR) is led by researchers in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education at the University of South Wales in partnership with the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and is an all-Wales school. We use a translational research model to ensure findings have high impact in academia, practice, policy and education. WSSPR is funded by Welsh Government through Health and Care Research Wales and sits within PRIME Centre Wales.

A Senior Research Assistant is required to undertake qualitative research on the Rural Co-design and Collaboration project funded for 3 years by UKRI. The focus of the research is to mobilise community assets (e.g. museums, archive centres, libraries, cultural sites, green spaces) to reduce place-based health inequalities in rural areas. The project aim is to widen engagement with existing community assets amongst disadvantaged groups and encourage collaboration between statutory and third sector health service providers. Co-production, community research and the inclusion of people with lived experience are central to this project. We will be working closely with both statutory and third sector stakeholders as well as the general public in several rural communities across the Scottish Highlands. The fieldwork will involve regular travel to rural communities across the Highland region.

This position is based at the Glyntaff Campus of the University of South Wales. The terms and conditions of the post (including grade and salary) will be those of the University of South Wales.
