Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a
Material Planner to join our
Supply Chain team based at our site in
Kingswinford.


The purpose of this role is to
forecast and control our inventory; to review consumption rates and plan the supply chain to ensure we have sufficient stock.


In order to be successful in this role you must have experience working in a fast-paced operational environment and be confident in making decisions.

You should be self-motivated and attentive to detail with an obsession for providing a high level of service to internal and external customers.


You must be comfortable working under pressure and be hungry to bring further change and improvements to our Supply Chain.

You must have MRP systems experience and strong Excel skills. Membership of the CIPS would be preferable, but isn't essential.


Need to do;

  • Maintain inventory and ensuring sufficient stock levels whilst minimising inventory.
  • Support improvement activities in Supply chain functions whilst working with key internal stakeholders for business wide improvement opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with existing suppliers; ensuring that we deliver the maximum value from the supply chain.
  • Forecasting likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency and reduce inventory.
  • Support the identification of initiatives to help reduction inventory and improvements in working capital usage.
  • Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers (both UK & overseas).
  • Ensure the achievement of the daily, weekly and monthly schedule for OTIF delivery and maintain the appropriate metrics.
  • Maintain and update; Bill of Materials (BOMs); Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and audit adherence.
  • Ensure all line stoppages have mínimal impact on production line by using the process in place with possible resourcing included.

Need to have;

  • Substantial experience within a similar role
  • Demonstrable success in sustaining change / business improvement.
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Understanding of manufacturing, a variety of materials and production processes
  • Good knowledge of assembly environments
  • Oversees sourcing experience
  • Success in costdown initiatives

£25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
